The farmer's protest enters the 33rd day the center and farmers continue to be at loggerheads the center is going to be sending a letter to the farmer unions today accepting their proposal this is coming after farmer unions unsaturday agreed to hold talks and proposed 29 december meeting with center on their four-point agenda the farmers have already prepared a backup plan to escalate protests if the talks fail the farmers are demanding investment in the agriculture sector they've decided to continue campaign to boycott corporate products meanwhile arvind kejriwal visited singhu border yesterday evening and appealed to the centre to repeal
the new farm laws he's also attended the prayers to honor the martyrdom of nine sikh guru tegh bahadur anisha is now joining us live for the latest on this anisha where do these protests stand 33rd day is buying cold right here in delhi chief minister kejriwal standing by in solidarity with the farmers as well 29th is when that crucial meeting is going to take place as well i'm throwing straight across to you to encapsulate the latest developments for our viewers this morning well good morning the protest is going on as usual but you can see behind me people are have waking up they're moving around and this morning is going to be very very crucial as the center is expected to respond to the letter that was sent by the farmer unions on saturday remember the farmers have set another a clear four-point agenda which is that there should be a repeal of the three or repeal of the three form laws or the mechanisms to make a remunerative mst recommended as a legally legal guarantee for msp they've also asked for amendments in the commission for air quality that is due to which a lot of them had been fined for parallel burning as well as changes in the electricity amendment act which uh which would which they say was being used to impose huge electricity bills on them these are the four-point agenda
that the farmers have been pushing from the beginning repeal of farm laws guaranteed msp withdrawal of the fines or for parallel burning and any our relief in the electricity bills that is for the government to respond to this letter remember these are the points on which the talks had been stuck even earlier the government has made it clear that they're not going to repeal the laws the what they were they have put on the table is amendments however interestingly enough yesterday uh defense minister rajnath singh and agriculture minister narendra made statements uh
welcoming the uh talks with the farmers they've also that's nothing speaking at a function has also said that nobody is taking land away from the farmers and a misconception is being created that this contract farming is going to lead to land being taken away so the government is once again trying to reassure the farmers that nothing is going to go wrong you know i'm coming back to you on this very point the government is giving out these several reassurances the point is the farmers are not relenting up until now anisha's stay on with us
