Google Adsense policy
better understand publisher restrictions and policies. And importantly, I also work with our internal teams to help them better understand the challenges you face. the Google policy that prohibits placing ads under misleading headings.
Why do we have this policy?
We are always w●rking to facilitate a healthy digital advertising ecosystem. Importantly, this means that we create policies and publisher restrictions considering the needs of our users, advertisers and publishers, so that all feel protected and can trust in the ecosystem.
This works best when users click on ads from genuine interest on sites with great content. When users visit publisher sites, they are there primarily to view content. When users encounter ads that are not represented as advertisements, it can trick the user into clicking on the ad.
Mislabeling ads can erode user trust and could cause wasted advertiser spend due to accidental clicks.
Poor user experiences have led to the rise in ad blocking. Why is this important? Simply put, we have these policies in place in order to help ensure that users are not tricked and that advertisers find value in their investment in digital advertising.
The health of our industry depends on trust. When publishers place ads on pages with the intention of deceiving or annoying users, it erodes trust.
Google Ads can only be labeled as either advertisements or sponsored links. Incorrect labels include, feel free to click on an ad, please check out our sponsors, support us, resources, or any other label that is not advertisements or sponsored links. Any label other than advertisements or sponsored links is a policy violation.
All of our policies and publisher restrictions are designed and enforced to build trust in the digital advertising ecosystem.
The future of Google and our partners are linked. And we believe in fostering an environment where users, advertisers, and publishers can all thrive in a healthy digital advertising ecosystem.
And by valuing each party, we help ensure the sustainability of our industry.
