Youtube and google adsense has decided to uh start taking advantage of non-american youtube creators and so how they're going to do this is they're going to be charging up to 30 percent tax on uh the u.s viewers of non-us creators so they can do this with
the u.s internal revenue code chapter 3 where they're collecting tax information from all monetizing creators outside of the us so it's going to be up to 30 percent of uh money is going to be taxed to from the u.s viewers so that's gonna hurt so many uh creators now i'm gonna walk you through
how you can possibly get by this because there is a way i i know especially if you're in canada or the uk you can get through this so if you don't fill out this form that they're asking you to fill out they're automatically going to charge you i think 30 percent of all your money is going to be taxed to the united states so let's let's get into this as soon as i went on google adsense it showed up it's uh it's the first thing i saw if it doesn't automatically come up for you you can go to payments manage settings and then manage us tax settings it'll come up and you can fill out this form but for me it popped up automatically so here i am just filling out the form or almost about to be so uh when you get here if you're an individual you just say that you're an individual i'm doing this as my my small youtube channel that you're watching uh i'm not a resident of the united states so the difference here is the first one here is for individuals the second one is more for a business channel so then you just put what country you're from obviously
so how we're gonna possibly be able to save money here is because some countries have a treaty a tax treaty so right here you're going to see it so they're going to ask for your foreign tin that is your social security number or something like that i'm going to block that out so that you can't see mine that's just what i'm not showing but that's what a foreign tin is is just your social security number or just i i don't know what it's called in other countries but it's basically just proving who you are for tax situation from your country so again that's what i'm blocking out here
so here you see tax treaty so depending on where you're from you can put in yes here and as you can see i'm going to click that and then go to canada and it's not guaranteed that you do get the treaty benefit but you can like if you're in canada or the uk you can get as low as zero percent uh compared to the thirty percent uh possible that they're going to take from you so it might not even affect you if you fill out this thing and fill out the treaty that you're from canada or the uk i think also uh mexico and korea is ten percent
so that's also in the treaty you're also getting a benefit there from mexico or korea i think there are a few other countries that get a small benefit as well well not really a small benefit when they're saving 20 percent i i think them taking 30 percent up to 30 is absolutely crazy i think that's going to hurt so many people i really appreciate you guys
